More about us

We are a family of five living at a sheep farm about 25 km from the village of Thorshofn. We have run Guesthouse Lyngholt since 1999 and gradually through the years added more houses to the business.

Guesthouse Lyngholt “main house” is located in the upper half of the village at Langanesvegur 12, close to the swimming pool. The house was built in 1958 by Karen´s grandparents and Karen and her family bought the house again in 1999 and renovated it completely.
Lyngholt has a total of 16 rooms in 5 houses, some rooms have private facilities and others have shared facilities. You can either rent a room or apartment or even a whole house.
Our latest addition to the business is the restaurant; Holtið Kitchen Bar which we opened in August 2024.
